At the two SS2012 fashion weeks that I attended in Kiev I have picked a few peices that, I hope, will make it to my spring wardrobe. Here we go: the wishlist.

Blogger bonanza at The One

On Wednesday, I went to an event at The One - one of the loveliest and cosy showrooms in Kyiv. Fashion bloggers and journalists got a special offer - we could buy 1 item by a Ukrainian designer for just 10% of the original price. The selection process leading up to this caused quite a stir, I can tell you.

The event was very exciting. I felt like I was in the company of girlfriends preparing to go to a party - the bloggers helped each other to pick out the clothes, advised on combining them and discussed the upcoming Kiev Fashion Days.

As for me, I added a see-through top with patches of mint and khaki wool fabric by Anton Belinskiy to my wardrobe.I wore it to a party yesterday. Don't have a proper photo of it yet, but here's a glimpse.

Knowing that Ukrainian blogsphere get more and more involved in the development of fashion world makes me extremely happy. Thank you, Alina Malushkina, for organising this! We had a great evening.

The aftermath

I finally brought myself to writing about the final days of Kiev Fashion Days, which ended nearly a week ago. And being in that competition, I'm meant to blog daily, but I don't believe in this. I believe that one should blog whenever one actually has something to say, and not to tick off a blogger's box.

Kiev Fashion Days. What can I say? Thanks a lot to the organisers of this fashion event in Ukraine, it was a major one. But I must admit, I didn't even go to the last day of it although I did have a press pass. I came back from three catwalk shows and a lecture by Alena Doletskaya - ex-editor of Vogue Russia - to find that I was exhausted. Exhausted from what I saw.

What people do at events like this (in Ukraine at least) is dress to impress. Sometimes in the unpleasant meaning of the phrase. People try too hard to be eclectic, shocking, loud, bright, whatever. This is when fashion stops being stylish and starts becoming a race for appearances on blogs and magazines. Some pople don't even realize that they look ridiculous, not stylish.

Anyway, that's my bitter impression from a concentrated bohemian crowd. The shows were nice. Nice, not impressive, I guess. Sasha Kanevsky's collection, for example, seemed adult and sleek, yes, but I felt like he wasn't bothered to do much - we've seen it all before (with all the respect for the designer, he is a cool man).

Alena Doletskaya's Q&A lecture was, perhaps, the most inspiring hour of the KFD. She used a term that sounded something like "feverish blogging". This, I guess, is the best way to describe what's going on in the Ukrainian blogsphere. I feel like eveything is digested and redigested online, very little is original. I hope we start moving in a more creative, creating direction very soon.

And here are a few memorable moments from the event. I'm still looking forward to the next KFDs to come. It's nice to see Ukrainian Fashion put itself out there.

Have a stylish weekend. x

Been there, seen it, shot it - KFD

Ukrainian fashion world is now swirling around one huge event. Kiev Fashion Days have finally started. Being a very nosy and fearless blogger, I was swift to get my Press badge and photograph all the things that either raised my eyebrows or inspired me to come back for more (and there is more to come in the next couple of days, stay tuned).

There'll be lectures, shows, mini-shows, installations, exhibitions, and a lot of improvisation with shoes and cuts. Kyiv's excited. I hope you are, too. If we talk mini fashion-week, images speak better than words. So enjoy my photo report and have a great weekend.

My bf Alex (left) and buddy Anton (right) =) Note my guy's new Obey tee. We shopped before the show

Met these sweet bloggers (also participating in the blogger competition). Read them at Totally Blond and It's So Pink

Caught these Jeremy Scott for Adidas angels. But they are angels, aren't they?

Christian Louboutin's, if I'm not mistaken. Sex with shoelaces - that's what they are.

Oh, and that's me. I was literally in somebody else's shoes. My ones eneded up being soaking wet after the unexpected rain, so I had to borrow my friend's Bershka boots (thanks, Nat! x) You can check out her blog: WILDLAND

I had a Lady Gaga (her lovely latest self) dejavu at the OK show

The next big things

I'm off sick, at home, in my pijamas, drinking hot tea with lemon and watching movies from 1980's with my boyfriend. No work, no uni, no drinking, no clubbing, no blogging. All the blogger stuff seems to be far away right now, but I want to keep in touch. So let's talk fashion.

First of all, look at these. Been flickin' through V Magazine fashion stories online. Man, how do they always get them right? Always. Enjoy the breath of 1970's in Glam Slam by Mario Testino.

The next big thing to look forward to in Ukraine (after the Kiev Fashion Days, of course) is Best Fashion Awards. I wonder how it will go. With the provocative taste of our celebrities and desperate fashion views of some of the designers, the ceremony is promising to be a parade of eyebrow-rising outfits. I hope it's going to be great, though.

Well, and everyone in Kyiv (and beyond) is obsessing about Kiev Fashion Days - a mini-fashion week with international guests (the likes of Face Hunter) and some of the coolest Ukrainian designers' shows on agenda. As a participant of the aforementioned blogger competition, I'm meant to get my badge very soon (hope so).

Ok, that's it for today. Hope you all have a nice Thursday. x
