Thinking

What would you wear if labels didn't have brand names on them?

On teddies

My friend gave me the cutest pendant for my birthday. I wore it to work today with loads of other stuff hanging from my neck. Excessive jewelry is my latest obsession, and I already know what is going to be on my post New Year's shopping list.

Sparkles, sparkles everywhere

These uggs seem to follow me everywhere I go. It feels like half of my institute has bought these in different colours. Oh well, can you blame them? These babies are taking over the city!

Here's my friends Veronica (who, by the way, fell for a lovely pair in silver, too) and I posin'. We had such a great laugh today making these photographs.

Oh, and it's kind of snowing in Kyiv. It looked like the weather is trying to trick us into thinking it's spring for the whole of December. Give us Christmas and snow!

My dream as reality. Bjorg

I accidentally came across the Bjorg 2012 lookbook featuring the brand's Odyssey collection. I have never taken interest in this Norwegian jewellery-maker before, but now I'll be definitely looking for displays of their collections.

The mythical motifs and great photography made me crave half of the online store. I wonder what you think of them, my dear readers. Is it just me or do we all need some dreamy and surreal jewellery in our urban wardrobes?

On warm headgear

I notice that I'm becoming addicted to Benetton knitwear and underwear. Practically every shopping trip ends up with a sweater or a headband from the brand, just like this one.

Not only this, but knitwear starts being the focal point of my wardrobe when the temperature drops below +5 degrees Celsius. It's that mood: all you want in December is a fireplace and candy from Santa.

PS Photos are also featured on the blog of the company I work in: ARGO Notebook.

On couples

Fashion and love are the sexiest combination. Feelings are so often outshined by things more material. Yet, there is nothing more stylish than chemistry.

I like the fact that the idea of couples is exploited in a smart way in fashion today. Just think of the November 2011 issue of Vogue Russia featuring Adam Levine and his girlfriend Anne V. And, oh, the genii at the Kooples are a great example here, too. You get the idea.

When I saw this Details Magazine editorial (December issue) featuring a model couple Aline Nakashima and Ryan Burns on models.com, I fell in love with the photographs.

I really don't think I have seen anything sweeter in a long time.

Sweet Xmas preparations

The family of my friend Veronica (you remember her, right?) hosts a Charity Christmas Fair every year. This year it took place in November (last week) - slightly earlier than before, but not less fun it was. I helped as a volunteer, that explains the photo by the "Information" sign. =D

It was a beautiful chilly day, and we cosied up in our sweaters, uggs and things of wool. The mulled wine kept us warm though.

Note: the beautiful headpice - not mine. It was unceremoniously borrowed from Veronica

And a couple of fashion notes...

A saw snakeskin in abundance, which created a fierce and nteresting outfit.

And this beautiful fur bag caught my eye. Ah, the colour!

What I like about it is that it always sets the mood. When you see so many decorated trees, gifts and chocolates, the festive mood kicks in right away. And there was an afterparty. Yet again, that's a whole different story.

Veronica, thanks for inviting me! x

On perfect crops

Yesterday was an emotionally charged and - literally - heavy day, so I decided to go for the ultimate remedy - visit a salon for a new hairdo.

I got mine substantially cut, but the interesting thing is that I noticed my haircut pattern: before going for a crop I look at Jennifer Aniston's hair. No matter how much time goes by, she is always an inspiration. Maybe it's because I can't stop watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. while I cook, maybe she's just so adorable herself. Anyway, I am aiming for this crop in the nearest future (my fringe is too short for it now):

And I came across this old shoot by Mark Seliger, where Jennifer tried on a Barbra Streisand look. Isn't she gorgeous?

Featured in TOP10

The most read Ukrainian online fashion and lifestyle magazine - TOP10 - photographed fashion bloggers with their favourite magazines. I'm thrilled to be featured here, too.

The shoot was a very fun experience, and thanks to a talented photographer Ira Nastevich, we all look so pretty. I had to run to the studio after work (that explains the basic look and the Uggs - it was freezing everywhere!), and I couldn't really decide which magazine was my favourite here, since I mostly read British magazines. I went for ELLE Ukraine, though - this magazine's concept is preserved in most of its editions around the world.

Aww moments

My bf Alex and I took a photo of our footwear when hanging out in one of Kiev's parks. Yes, that's what we do when we hang out. Supra TK Society and sequined Uggs look good together, don't they?

PS This guy owns more pairs of shoes than I do. Tell him he needs to start a blog dedicated to shoes, please!

Magic in the air

There is something about waiting for Christmas. I know it's still a long way until the celebrations start, yet the fashion world is starting to buzz with party looks, editorials and catalogues.

Urban Outfitters practically makes me cry with despair (as it always does) when I see its new lookbook. There's nothing extraordinary about it, yet this is what I want my winter to be like this year: cosy, hanging out, warm, cute and with just a little sparkle.

On beauty and time

November is coming to a close. Time flies by so fast, I can't believe everything is so dynamic. Therefore, it's very important to feel the now, the today, rather than rush and run for tomorrow. This is what I find beautiful today. Soon this may be of no inspiration to me, but right now that's what I feel.

Browsing through my favourite daily feeds with a coffee and a cake, I found these to be something of an eye candy. I decided to muse about beauty. What is it?

Beauty leaves you thinking about perfection. Jourdan Dunn in i-D. She is flawless and the yellow nails are perfection.

Beauty is eye-catching. Elle Fanning in Marc by Marc Jacobs AW 2012 campaign. I've heard comments that she looks completely ridiculous here. No, she doesn't.

Beauty is taste. The Prada Resort story in Dazed & Confused. The candy colours and the 50s vibe are delicious.

Beauty is surprises you. I still can't decide whether I hate or love Rihanna's hair here. Yet I sure listen to a lot of her right now. And I just found out that she is to create her own fashion line with Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans

Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls backstage at the Victoria's Secret show who look absolutely stunning. They just make you say, "Beauty is radiance".

Beauty doesn't have to be anything but simpleJosephine Skriver in the special issue of Dazed & Confused is an excellent proof of this.

What is beauty to you?
