On perfect crops

Yesterday was an emotionally charged and - literally - heavy day, so I decided to go for the ultimate remedy - visit a salon for a new hairdo.

I got mine substantially cut, but the interesting thing is that I noticed my haircut pattern: before going for a crop I look at Jennifer Aniston's hair. No matter how much time goes by, she is always an inspiration. Maybe it's because I can't stop watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. while I cook, maybe she's just so adorable herself. Anyway, I am aiming for this crop in the nearest future (my fringe is too short for it now):

And I came across this old shoot by Mark Seliger, where Jennifer tried on a Barbra Streisand look. Isn't she gorgeous?

Featured in TOP10

The most read Ukrainian online fashion and lifestyle magazine - TOP10 - photographed fashion bloggers with their favourite magazines. I'm thrilled to be featured here, too.

The shoot was a very fun experience, and thanks to a talented photographer Ira Nastevich, we all look so pretty. I had to run to the studio after work (that explains the basic look and the Uggs - it was freezing everywhere!), and I couldn't really decide which magazine was my favourite here, since I mostly read British magazines. I went for ELLE Ukraine, though - this magazine's concept is preserved in most of its editions around the world.

Aww moments

My bf Alex and I took a photo of our footwear when hanging out in one of Kiev's parks. Yes, that's what we do when we hang out. Supra TK Society and sequined Uggs look good together, don't they?

PS This guy owns more pairs of shoes than I do. Tell him he needs to start a blog dedicated to shoes, please!

Magic in the air

There is something about waiting for Christmas. I know it's still a long way until the celebrations start, yet the fashion world is starting to buzz with party looks, editorials and catalogues.

Urban Outfitters practically makes me cry with despair (as it always does) when I see its new lookbook. There's nothing extraordinary about it, yet this is what I want my winter to be like this year: cosy, hanging out, warm, cute and with just a little sparkle.

On beauty and time

November is coming to a close. Time flies by so fast, I can't believe everything is so dynamic. Therefore, it's very important to feel the now, the today, rather than rush and run for tomorrow. This is what I find beautiful today. Soon this may be of no inspiration to me, but right now that's what I feel.

Browsing through my favourite daily feeds with a coffee and a cake, I found these to be something of an eye candy. I decided to muse about beauty. What is it?

Beauty leaves you thinking about perfection. Jourdan Dunn in i-D. She is flawless and the yellow nails are perfection.

Beauty is eye-catching. Elle Fanning in Marc by Marc Jacobs AW 2012 campaign. I've heard comments that she looks completely ridiculous here. No, she doesn't.

Beauty is taste. The Prada Resort story in Dazed & Confused. The candy colours and the 50s vibe are delicious.

Beauty is surprises you. I still can't decide whether I hate or love Rihanna's hair here. Yet I sure listen to a lot of her right now. And I just found out that she is to create her own fashion line with Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans

Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls backstage at the Victoria's Secret show who look absolutely stunning. They just make you say, "Beauty is radiance".

Beauty doesn't have to be anything but simpleJosephine Skriver in the special issue of Dazed & Confused is an excellent proof of this.

What is beauty to you?

Recognition

I found a top by Anton Belinskiy that I bought to join my wardrobe. The collection it was from was not shown on the catwalk and I coudn't find any images of it before. Found one in 423 Magazine. I'm thrilled.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

No matter how surprisingly unimressed I am by the movie starring Audrey Hepburn, I love her character's sense of style and one thing in particular: her taste in jewelry.

The most loved jewelry brand does all the classics but sometimes it makes things that leave you mezmorized and phantasizing about what you would wear a particular set of earrings or ring with. Browsing the Tiffany & Co. website really is meditation.

The collection by Elsa Peretti is one of the most desired ones, perhaps. Silver is fluid and rings are like candy. All I need now is extra $700 to nurture my desire for stylish pendants like this one. Guys at 2threads asked me how I would style this gorgeous must-have. Well, here we go.

Aaaand I'm off to fantasize. I've browsed the Suitster website - an online store of several Ukrainian designers. You gotta be patriotic sometimes (but we actually have some good stuff going on here).

I would want the outfit to be very light, the skirt long and the shoes slightly "out of place". A pendant like this needs no classic company, I think.

So that would be Camilla Skovgaard extreme wedge sandals. And for the clothes, I would mix this piece of jewelry with transparent fabric, lace and pastel tones. A lace dress by KAMENSKAYAKONONOVA, a swimsuit by and a maxi skirt by SASHA.KANEVSKI worn together would make a good cocktail of nude colours.

What do you think?

Mulberry Wonderland

Every time I go on the ELLE website, the Mulberry ad campaign film appears on the screen, and I can't help but mention just how captivating this film is. It's so simply made, yet I can't take my eyes off the optical tricks.  The fairy tale mix of 2D and 3D images is very captivating. Have a look.

She's a lady

Yesterday I bought this somewhat ladylike dress from Mango and just had to flaunt it at the office today.

Necklace: Exoal.

Blogger-inspired

This is the closest music ever got to blogger looks and lookbooks, I think. Enjoy Booty Bounce by Dev. Three and a half minutes of non-stop outfit changing and posing for that camera - I just love it! The song has been stuck in my head since early morning.
