September summary

I can't tell you how much changed in my life this month. I fulfilled the teenage dream of getting into LCF and I moved to London (not permanently, but still). everything seems to be moving so fast, and I sometimes have to stop myself and just let it all in. I went to have a symbolic good-bye-September coffee to Holland Park with my friends today, and decided to look at some of the highlight. And the small thing matter, they are what  your life actually is.

So...

I got an iPhone at last. Now I photograph everything like crazy. Like these blueberries. Oh, and you can find me on instagram @hannahavrylova now. Follow follow follow! =)

I went to some great events and exhibitions in London. Like this Friday Late at V&A.

I started my course at LCF. One of our first assignments was an assessment of Regent Street. How great is that?

And sometimes it's very hard. Like here.

Oooh, and I bought one of these tidy rails for my wardrobe. Always wanted one =)

And I'm out a lot, enjoying the autumn air in London parks when I get a free minute. Go out there, this season is beautiful.

I hope you all had a magical day

On new autumn shorts

To continue on the topic of polka dots, here's my uni look from today. Yestreday I went shopping for towels and hangers for my new room in London and I ended up buying a pair of wool shorts at Forever21. Talk about impulsive buys. I love the shorts anyhow.

+H&M coat, Sparkle & Fade sweater, East necklace, Primark tights and Mango boots.

Polka dot splash at Selfridges

If you happen to be in London right now you just must check out the show windows at Selfridges if you haven't done so already. These gorgeous displays were made by a Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton.

Her vibrant avant-garde style captures the essence of the collection, and it is something you can't take your eyes off. The compositions are quirky and somewhat ironic, which makes them even more adorable. A masterpiece for a shop window, really.

Eyewear on display

A few free relaxed hours in between roomhunting, induction week at LCF and getting used to living in London again at last! I'm loing the first week at the College so far. Today we all had workshops outside of our courses, so I went to hear a presentation called Fashion on Display about the techniques used to exhibit fashion garments and problems and debates related to displaying them. It was very inspiring and informative, and to me it was a sort of an introduction to fashion curation, since I never really came across it closely before.

We also visited the LCF Gallery in John Prince's Street to see the eyewear exhibition called Framed! Contemporary Eyewear in Fashion that featured an incredible collection of glasses and creative eyewear designs as well as a brief history of eyewear fashion. Some of the futuristic designs really impressed me. It was also a discovery to see some of the most unexpected materials (like human hair, for example) used to create eyewear. Here are some peaks at the exhibition for you.

Now I'll just finish my latte and run off to another workshop in Oxford Circus. Whoosh! Cheers x

On LFW and the big step

Today I went to London Fashion Week for for the first time. It's an experience I longed for for a very long time, and it's a little strange to post about it, especially when it has become only a small part of the greater experience of this week. Ladies and gentlemen, I have moved to London to study.

I have enrolled at London College of Fashion today to do my MA Fashion Retail course. I have a feeling this is going to be a huge inspiration for CHICLASH posts in the upcoming year and a half.

Anyway, back to LFW. I got hold of a ticket to the Jean-Pierre Braganza show at Somerset House. One of the reasons I was excited about this particular show was that the designer claimed that he was inspired by the works of a Ukrainian artist Zinaida Lihacheva. The prints on dresses actually resemled Lihacheva's works, and it was interesting to see the merge of two talents in one collection.

I didn't photograph any of the show - my battery died (yes, it was as bad as this). The collection was beautiful, though: simple shapes, geometric cuts, a mix of monochrome, coral and fresh blue. I also loved the hair: bolder and more complicated braids are going to be big again. Here are some photos from the show via Fashionising.com. You can view the collection here

I did photohunt before the start of the show, though. The atmosphere is much more relaxed than any fashion event I went to before (which left me quite surprised). I strolled around the territory among the guests and made some snapshots of the brightest looks. You can also find a shoe report on CHICLASH SHOE SHOTS.
